What if you delete Microsoft Sans Serif in Windows?[]
Microsoft Sans Serif (included in Windows 2000 & above) aims at metric compatibility with the MS Sans Serif bitmap font. If the font file is deleted, the fallback characters are shown in Arial, Courier New and Times New Roman (i.e. the Microsoft core fonts) instead.
Note: Ascender Corporation and Linotype sells the font commercially. Apple licensed the font and other Microsoft fonts in 2007 since its inclusion with Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard”.
